About Young Johnson Monumental Masons

Young Johnson Limited is a local, family run business originally formed in 1988 by Nick Johnson. Widely respected throughout the area as one of the leading monumental masons in the South West, Young Johnson specialise in all forms of memorials lovingly crafted to customers specifications; we also accept an array of bespoke commissions and unique projects.

Nick Johnson is responsible for the overall running of the business having worked in the industry for over 40 years. He is a City & Guilds qualified monumental mason and past member of the Guild of Master Letter Carvers. He still has a very-hands on approach to running the business and will often be found in the workshop producing memorials.

Nick's wife, Helen Johnson, is also a director and the financial co-ordinator of the company. Helen is very passionate about the business and has a vast knowledge of all types of memorials and prides herself on providing exceptional product advice and levels of customer care to all our clients.

Continuing the family tradition, Jessica Johnson is a director and responsible for running the offices, in addition to designing memorials for customers. She has considerable experience in both office management and in the creation and production of memorials.

The company expanded in 2019 having acquired a new site in Plymouth, Devon. Having previously traded as Co-Operative Memorials for over 60 years, Young Johnson retained the services of the existing team as they are both highly skilled and experienced.

Workshops at both locations combine traditional handcrafted skills and the latest developments in technology to produce memorials of the highest quality. As befitting the company's membership of SEDEX, all materials used by Young Johnson are ethically sourced and our work conforms to the highest standards of professionalism.

Our full-service production provision enables Young Johnson to supply memorials to the whole of the South West region from Swindon and Bristol to Plymouth and Penzance and everywhere in between.

The Team

We employ a highly skilled team of qualified masons and licensed fixers of whom we are all very proud. Young Johnson are also invited members of the National Association of Memorial Masons with all our memorials created and installed in accord with the NAMM code of working practice.
